Andrew Creates Satellite Product Group

By Staff Writer | October 12, 2004

Orland Park, Ill.-based Andrew Corporation, a communications-systems equipment supplier, formed one new product group focused on satellites and a second new group that combines antennas and cable products.

The move reportedly will help the company increase its focus on what it believes to be a rapidly growing market opportunity for satellite communications infrastructure, said Ralph Faison, Andrew’s president and CEO. In addition, the changes will aid responsiveness in decision-making across each product group.

Paul Cox, former president of the company’s Antennas Group, will serve as president of the new Satellite Communications Group, overseeing a product group with annualized sales of approximately $175 million and an addressable market that exceeds $1 billion.

John DeSana, former president of the Cable Products Group, was named president of the newly combined Antenna and Cable Products Group. His group has annualized sales of approximately $800 million, and most of its products are sold directly to cable operators.
