The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) earlier this week granted SWE-Dish Satellite Communications Inc. a license to operate an elliptical 0.90X0.6-meter, transportable, transmit/receive, fixed-satellite service (FSS) earth station, subject to conditions. According to the order, the earth station will operate in portions of the Ku- band, and it will provide an Internet Protocol gateway using certain U.S.-licensed satellites, including Loral Space & Communication‘s [LOR] Telstar- 6 and Telstar-11, PanAmSat Corp.‘s Galaxy-3C and PAS-1R and SES Americom‘s AMC-3 and AMC-5.
