EchoStar Communications [DISH] officials today said that the company’s Dish Network direct-to-home satellite TV service will begin offering local channels to subscribers in Columbus-Tupelo, Miss., and in Portland-Auburn, Maine. Columbus-Tupelo subs now will be able to get the local affiliates of ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and PBS. Portland-Auburn subscribers will be able to view the local affiliate broadcasts of CBS, NBC, Fox, WB, UPN and PBS.
