By Staff Writer | April 1, 2004

The European Satellite Operators’ Association (ESOA) General Assembly elected New Skies Satellites CEO Dan Goldberg as its chairman for a one-year term. He succeeds Eutelsat CEO Giuliano Berretta. Telespazio CEO Enrico Saggese was elected ESOA vice chairman.

In addition to the elections, ESOA members set the following priorities for the coming year: to work with government authorities to aid global market access for satellite- delivered communications and to address related trade issues; to collaborate with key stakeholders in Europe and elsewhere to create regulatory conditions that foster the efficient and competitive delivery of satellite services; and to promote the role of satellite services as an important tool for European policymakers to deliver broadband communication services to underprivileged areas.
