PanAmSat’s Galaxy 13 Carries Encore HD

Wilton, Conn.-based PanAmSat Corp. [SPOT] signed a 15-year transponder deal for the satellite delivery of the Starz Encore Group‘s Encore HD high definition premium movie channel via PanAmSat’s Galaxy 13/Horizon-1 satellite.
Encore HD will join other HDTV programming already carried by Galaxy 13: Cinemax HD, HBO HDTV, HDNet, HDNet Movies, Wealth TV, Starz! HD and TNT HD. The Encore HD programming will include a selection of films available in 1080i format with other films up-converted to approximate a full high-definition experience. Galaxy 13 is located at 127 degrees W.
