Emcore [EMKR] has been selected to provide Boeing [BA] with advanced triple-junction high-efficiency solar cells and panels for use on Boeing’s latest model 702 satellite. Boeing also has an option for a follow-on satellite. Emcore officials said that with the solar cells, the satellite would be able to generate 18 kilowatts of power at the start of service and 15.5 KW at the end of its 15-year design life.
