AsiaSat Buys Integrated Satellite System

      Asia Satellite Communications Co. (AsiaSat) [NYSE: SAT], a Hong Kong-based satellite operator, agreed to buy a single consolidated primary satellite control system from Integral Systems [Nasdaq: ISYS], a Lanham, Md.-based provider of satellite ground systems. Financial terms were not disclosed.

      The satellite control system will be used for the AsiaSat 2, 3S, and 4 satellites. AsiaSat2 is based on the Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] 7000 Series, while 3S and 4 are based on the Boeing [NYSE: BA] 601HP platform.
