Satellite Security, a San Diego-based company that provides secure Global Positioning System (GPS) services, has signed a pact to monitor oil tankers for New York-based Metro Fuel Oil. No financial terms were disclosed.

The Satellite Security GPS service will enable the identification, command, and control of each tanker in the Metro Fuel fleet. The system also can be used for homeland security to keep track of a fully loaded oil tanker to guard against terrorist threats.
