Net2Phone Global Services, a subsidiary of Newark, N.J.-based Net2Phone [Nasdaq: NTOP], has signed a deal with Africa-based Afsat Communications to provide Afsat customers with voice-over-IP (VoIP) services via satellite broadband. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Under the agreement, Afsat is offering 200 local operators and 300 corporate customers a complete satellite VoIP package. The offering is based on Hughes Network Systems‘ DirecWay broadband satellite service.
