PanAmSat Corp. [Nasdaq: SPOT] has announced the continued expansion of its presence in Washington, D.C., through its G2 Satellite Solutions division (G2) by the acquisition of Esatel Communications, a Virginia/Maryland telecommunications firm that specializes in providing full and end-to-end services and solutions to the U.S. government. PanAmSat has also named one of its top executives, Tom Eaton, to head up its Washington effort and has appointed a group of leaders in the government sector to assist in the effort. Financial terms were not disclosed.
