Schlumberger‘s [NYSE: SLB] Houston-based Oilfield Services unit will provide remote monitoring and control of electrical submersible pumps (ESPs) via satellites for Columbian oil and gas firm Hocol.

Schlumberger’s service includes remote satellite-based data acquisition and immediate alarm and alert-callout notifications, as well as remote pump start-up, speed control and resolution of pump problems.
