The switch to free-to-air by the BBC has been delayed until at least early July while they await a decision from the ITC over their ongoing row with Sky over carriage costs. Friendly TV has commenced regular programming on 11623 MHz horizontal, Sky Ch.268. Also, the music channel Rapture TV has officially re-launched on 11488 MHz vertical, Sky Ch.265.Two Asian radio stations, Asian Gold and Sukh Sagar, which occupy Ch.901 and 900 in the Sky EPG, were unceremoniously removed from the EPG on 7 May. The stations blame a ‘technical hitch’ for their removal. Sky are thought to be dropping the Sky Movies Premier and Sky MovieMax names in the third quarter of this year. In their place will be 12 Sky Movies channels. London’s LBC Radio 97.3 FM, the popular all-news station, is testing on 12324 MHz vertical prior to their imminent launch in the Sky Digital line-up. On 11584 MHz horizontal test transmissions for a Sikh religious radio station are underway. The station, Amrit Bani – which is the name given to Sikh scriptures, is expected to launch in the near future.

On 11608 MHz horizontal, SR 6000, FEC 3/4, Emirates Channel, Sharjah TV, Emarat FM and Sharjah FM have launched in the clear via PIDs V1123/1124, A1143/1144/1143/1144/1154. Deutsche Welle TV Arabic has been replaced by ERI TV on 11623 MHz vertical, SR 27500, FEC 3/4, VPID 2160, APID 2120 within the Arabsat multiplex. The Syrian satellite Channel, El-Bernameg al-Aam and Radio Sout al-Sha’ab have all launched on 11556 MHz horizontal, SR 3000, FEC 3/4, VPID 1025, APIDs 1045/1055. Grande Fratello Finestra [literally translates as Big Brother Window] 1-5 have left the Stream package for Italy on 11977 MHz horizontal. An al-Islah promo is being played out on 12149 MHz vertical, SR 27500, FEC 3/4, VPID 176, APID 177 in the Antenna Hungaria multiplex. Teve Pika, the Slovenian channel, has launched on the same frequency via V192, A193. Tiziana Sat is new in the Antenna Hungaria bouquet via PIDs V208, A209. Bogota-based TV Colombia has started regular programming in the Telespazio platform at 11179 MHz horizontal, SR 27500, FEC 3/4, VPID 639, APID 640. The Kabel Deutschland bouquet has vacated 11262 MHz horizontal. From Italy’s Tuscany region, Toscana Channel News has launched on two frequencies at this orbital slot.
