Ministers responsible for space activities in European Space Agency member states and in Canada will meet May 27 in Paris at ESA’s headquarters to consider a resolution to restructure the Ariane launcher sector and put the troubled Ariane 5 launcher back on track.

Separately, ESA announced that it would organize a telemedicine symposium, “Telemedicine via Satellite in the Information Society,” in Frascati, Italy, on May 23-24. This symposium, which will bring together information and communications technology specialists and health professionals, aims to review the current status of satellite-based telemedicine services and technologies and identify common requirements of direct relevance to future satellite telemedicine services.
