Motorola’s [NYSE: MOT] Broadband Communications Sector has acquired technologies of Cadence Design Systems [NYSE: CDN] that are used in direct-to-home multimedia platforms. This acquisition allows Motorola Broadband to add multimedia home platforms to the capabilities of its DTH product lines of interactive digital set-tops. Cable, satellite, and terrestrial operators will benefit by having greater flexibility in deploying interactive applications, the company said.
