DigitalGlobe, a Longmont, Colo.-based satellite imagery firm, has opened an office in Washington D.C., to serve the company’s U.S. government customers. The office will be led by Dawn Sienicki, former executive director of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce‘s Space Enterprise Council. Sienicki will serve as a DigitalGlobe liaison with Capitol Hill and the Executive Branch.

DigitalGlobe’s decision was in response to the new policy announced by the Bush administration to encourage U.S. agency use of commercial satellite imagery.
