Engineered Support Systems [Nasdaq: EASI] subsidiary Technical and Management Services, based in Calverton, Md., has completed installing a satellite communications network for the U.S. Army logistics operations in the Middle East. The network uses TDMA (time division multiple access) satellite terminals, marking the first time that TDMA technology has been used by the U.S. Army for satellite communications.

The $165-million network uses 27 remote transmitting and receiving stations that are linked via a central control facility in Wiesbaden, Germany, providing forward-deployed logistics personnel with connectivity to the Army’s logistics network.
