NSI Global Supplies Satellite Terminals To Coalition Forces
NSI Global [TSX: NGL], a supplier of satellite-based communications systems headquartered in Montreal, announced that its Vistar subsidiary is supplying 700 GlobalWave MT2000 satellite data communication terminals for use by coalition forces to track the transport of critical supplies in the Middle East.
The GlobalWave units are being installed on vehicles and containers. NSI Global’s reseller, CorpTen International, is selling the units to Titan Systems for deployment by the U.S. military. Network services are being provided by DataStar, which is NSI’s regional operator of the GlobalWave system for the Middle East.
The terminals include a Global Positioning System satellite receiver and antenna and a long-life battery. The system uses existing geo-stationary satellites to relay two-way data messages between the terminals and computers located in operational command facilities.
