Satellite TV provider EchoStar Communications [Nasdaq: DISH] announced that it plans to offer local TV channels in 42 additional markets, provided that retransmission agreements with local TV stations can be formalized in each of the markets. The additions would bring the total number of markets Denver-based EchoStar serves with local channels to 106 by the end of the year.
