The Allied Defense Group’s California-based SeaSpace subsidiary has signed a long-term collaborative agreement with Taiwan’s National Space Program Office (NSPO). Under the agreement, SeaSpace and NSPO will collaborate initially on projects involving the ROCSAT-1 spacecraft and MODIS instrument.

NSPO’s ROCSAT-1 carries advanced sensors and telecommunications equipment in low-earth orbit. MODIS is the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s moderate resolution imaging spectrometer, an instrument for observing the earth’s land, ocean, and atmosphere, which is onboard two NASA satellites – Terra and Aqua. SeaSpace and NSPO will share data sets and processing software to improve their respective technologies for earth observation from low-earth orbit.
