France Telecom Mobile Satellite Communications and KDDI have signed a partnership that will allow the French operator to offer global coverage to its Inmarsat customers with value-added services in Asia and the Pacific region.

Since February, France Telecom Mobile Satellite Communications has upgraded its network infrastructure, using the Japanese operator KDDI to provide greater coverage in the Pacific region. The architecture implemented for the Inmarsat-B, M, mini-M, M4, C and Fleet 77 services uses a dedicated cable link between the France Telecom Mobile Satellite Communications ground stations in Aussaguel, near Toulouse, and those of KDDI in Yamaguchi, Japan.
