Trimble [Nasdaq: TRMB] and Infineon Technologies [NYSE: IFX; FSE] are offering their integrated Global Positioning System (GPS) chipset and software product in a smaller package, company officials said.

The new product will enable high-volume manufacturers of consumer products to cost-effectively add GPS location capabilities. Trimble’s lowest power GPS chipset, the VQFN chipset, is well suited for new integrated, battery powered mobile devices.
