SiRF Technology, of San Jose, Calif., has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Enuvis, a wireless location technology provider. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

SiRF intends to integrate Enuvis’ assisted-GPS (A-GPS) technology into its SiRFLoc Multimode location platform, adding the ability to acquire GPS signals and deliver accurate location calculations inside buildings and dense metropolitan areas. In addition, Enuvis brings a high-sensitivity, software-based GPS engine technology that can run on multiple DSP-based client devices.
