Norway’s Canal Digital is launching yet another service in its four Nordic territories of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The newcomer, which will launch on November 8, is Cinecinemas, managed by Paris based Multithematiques, and already operating in France and Italy where one million subscribers have taken the service.

Cinecinemas will show films from the last three decades plus a few new releases, opening its first month with titles such as Striptease, Michael Collins and Mars Attacks. Contracts with leading Hollywood studios like Warner and Fox have been secured.

Cinecinemas will initially be on the air from 13:00 to 02:00 every day. The channel will be played out from the Stockholm office of Canal Plus, the a la carte price is set to SKr69 (Euro8) per month, but Cinecinemas will also be offered in various packages. Subtitling, mainly into Swedish, will be offered.
