TPS has introduced a second decoder option, called Option Confort, to enable different members of the same household to watch different programmes on the TPS bouquet or to record one channel while watching another. The household is supplied with a second viewing card. The price of the option is Fr20 (Euro3.05) a month for the first year and Fr40 a month for subsequent years, plus Fr45 a month for rental of a second decoder. The second decoder must be used within the same household as the primary subscription. It must be connected to the same telephone line as the main subscription, enabling TPS to verify that the decoder does not migrate to a different household. The scheme underwent a pilot trial earlier this year, which was deemed to have been successful, although we have not obtained any figures.
