JPO AWARDS GPS KIT CONTRACT TO ALLIED SIGNAL

Olathe, Kan.-based Allied Signal Avionics Inc. recently won a $1.9 million Navstar GPS Joint Program Office (JPO) contract for 1,685 interim GPS kits to aid situational awareness for military aircrews. Each kit will contain a KLX 100 GPS handheld receiver. The contract is based on the Defense Department’s decision to accelerate full GPS integration into military avionics.
