Flyht Aerospace Solutions announced the sale of its Automated Flight Information Reporting System (AFIRS) and FlyhtLog services to Azur Havacilik (Azur Aviation), based in Antalya, Turkey. The contract is valued at $2.1 million, for which Flyht will provide hardware to Azur Aviation for the next five years.

Flyht stated it has all of the necessary Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) to complete installation on Azur Aviation’s fleet of B767, B737 and B757 aircraft. Installations are anticipated to begin in the first quarter of 2018.

According to Salih Dinc, engineering manager for Azur Aviation, Flyht’s solution will support long-range communication needs and allow the airline to comply with Global Aeronautical Distress and Safety System (GADSS) standards. “In fact, our airline will exceed those standards with Flyht’s solution,” Dinc added. “Their solution will also enable our mixed fleet of aircraft to transmit data in a similar format, helping us reduce downline costs related to translating data.”

Azur Airlines is Flyht’s first customer in the Middle East this year.
