[Via Satellite 11-22-2016] With the aim to deliver broadband access to underserved rural areas, Indonesian satellite telecommunications service provider Pasifik Satelit Nusantara (PSN) has selected satellite communication technology provider Newtec’s Dialog platform. The Newtec Dialog platform will supply PSN with a 4IF Hub module and hundreds of MDM3100 Satellite Modems featuring Mx-DMA to provide services using C-band transponders.

PSN will use the multiservice platform to deliver satellite internet access to schools, government offices and community health clinics as part of the universal service obligation for Indonesia’s Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MCIT).

PSN evaluated various options based on Single Channel Per Carrier (SCPC) and Multi-Frequency, Time Division Multiple Access (MF-TDMA) technologies and concluded that the Newtec Dialog platform provides the best fit and total cost of ownership, based on the high throughput Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) capabilities.
