Orbital Tracking to Sell MSS Products in China Through Alibaba

[Via Satellite 05-25-2016] Orbital Tracking Corp. subsidiary Global Telesat Communications (GTC) has entered the Chinese market through the Alibaba wholesale marketplace. The company will leverage the Alibaba platform, which serves as one of the world’s largest e-commerce marketplaces, as it continues its expansion throughout Asia.

Orbital Tracking is offering an initial selection of more than 100 of the top-selling mobile satellite communications products from providers including Globalstar, Inmarsat, Thuraya and DeLorme as well as a wide selection of airtime subscription plans. The new site supports multiple languages including English and Chinese. Alibaba is a Chinese e-commerce company that provides consumer-to-consumer, business-to-consumer and business-to-business sales services via Web portals. It also provides electronic payment services, a shopping search engine and data-centric cloud computing services. The company Alibaba is expected to report nearly $500 billion in gross merchandise volume on its China retail marketplaces from 2015, making it the world’s largest retailer by gross volume, according to the “Alibaba Group 2015 Annual Report.”
