[Via Satellite 05-19-2016] SpeedCast International has been awarded a contract to provide a global oilfield service company with a fully managed network service for 10 sites in the United Arab Emirates and Oman, as an expansion to current services in other regions. The company attributed the contract win in part to its recent acquisitions.

In 2015, SpeedCast purchased six companies, including NewCom, ST Teleport and the teleport infrastructure and satellite services business of the former NewSat. The company now has a worldwide network of 40 sales and support offices and 39 teleport operations, providing satellite services in more than 90 countries.

“We have been serving the customer through different entities in different regions and we are now growing as a more significant global partner for them. Our recent acquisitions position us well to expand our services to regions where we have not had a strong presence historically,” said Pierre Jean Beylier, CEO of SpeedCast.
