[Via Satellite 06-12-2014] Gilat Satellite Networks provided its low-profile maritime terminals for use on naval vessels of an unspecified Asian country. The terminals deliver Command-and-Control communications in combat operations, and have been deployed in missile boats, fast attack craft and other vessels in both Ka-band and Ku-band variants, allowing commanders access to real-time data and increasing situational awareness when at sea.

The solution is based on the RaySat SR200M and ER5000KA Ka-band antennas. The terminal includes a Wavestream Block Upconverter (BUC) and the GLT 1000 modem. The RaySat low-profile antennas have an advanced tracking mechanism that provides short initial acquisition and immediate re-acquisition times. The design allows for smaller radar cross-section and enhanced maneuverability for military vessels.
