[Via Satellite 05-27-2014] Syntelix, a Spanish telecommunication operator, signed a contract with Avanti Communications for capacity to run a series of public and private connectivity programs in Spain. The first phase of the partnership will begin with the distribution of a government program in 96 remote locations across the country. The telecom towers at each location will receive capacity from Avanti’s Hylas 1 satellite to provide for high-speed telemetry and video surveillance.

The solution will be converted across Radio Frequency Modulation (FM), Base Transceiver Station (BTS) 3G/4G and Wimax/Wi-Fi links. Prime applications for the solution include door access control, remote locking, video and sound surveillance and energy supply monitoring.
