[Via Satellite 04-14-2014] Gogo will roll-out Wi-Fi on Air Canada’s North American fleet this May. In this agreement, Gogo satellites will also undergo type-testing in the future for enablement of Wi-Fi on Air Canada international flights. These trials are planned for 2015.

The agreement makes Air Canada the first airline in Canada to offer in-flight Wi-Fi connectivity to North American customers. Two of Air Canada’s Airbus 319 aircraft are currently equipped with Wi-Fi, subject to final agreement with Gogo, and the airline has a goal of outfitting 29 aircraft in 2014, with a target completion date of December 2015 for the 130 narrow-body aircraft.
