[Via Satellite 02-05-2014] The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has signed a multimillion-euro contract with Newtec to deploy Newtec’s satellite broadcast solutions as part of the EDU’s pan-European news exchange network.

Newtec’s multiservice broadcast system solution will be developed with Eurovision network engineering teams, and will be used to upgrade part of EBU’s Eurovision network.

The system provided by Newtec will maintain the Eurovision News Exchange platform with an end-to-end solution that complements the workflow in newsroom environments with a flexible network structure.

“Our dedication to maximum bandwidth and operational network efficiency is fully aligned with EBU’s aim to deliver the best broadcast services, not only providing efficient transport of video, but really efficient end-to-end workflow support,” said Serge Van Herck, CEO of Newtec.
