Inmarsat Closes $45M Globe Wireless Purchase

[Via Satellite 1-3-2014] Inmarsat has confirmed the completion of regulatory and other approvals in relation to its $45 million purchase of Globe Wireless, a Florida-based maritime communications services company. As a result, Inmarsat has now completed its acquisition of Globe Wireless.
Inmarsat’s acquisition includes the business and substantially all of the assets of Globe Wireless. In the 12 months ended June 30, 2013, Globe Wireless generated revenues of $91 million and currently has an installed customer base of more than 6,000 ships.
