Airbus DS Government Solutions has integrated an iDirect Government software defined radio (SDR) satellite modem into its Ranger Flyaway terminal.
iDirect Gov announced Tuesday that Airbus successfully integrated and tested the 450 SDR satellite modem for the Ranger Flyaway milsatcom terminal.
The 450 SDR is iDirect Gov’s first custom multi-orbit, multi-waveform SDR modem. It has a modular three-board design with a radio frequency module, digital module, and carrier board. It also has advanced security features and anti-jam technology.
iDirect Gov President Tim Winter said that integrating the 450 SDR into the Ranger Flyaway terminal will enable government and defense communications that support connectivity, coordination, and command resources in the field.
“The richness and dynamic nature of the 450 SDR, coupled with our engineering, systems integration and automation, enables us to deliver a best-fit solution for government and warfighters’ communications,” said Chris Tsirlis, vice president of business development & product innovation, Airbus DS Government Solutions. “This advanced iDirectGov solution ensures networks and devices are protected for effective milsatcom missions.”
