Neo Space Group (NSG), the fast-growing Saudi space company, has appointed Haithem Mohammed Mojil Alfaraj as its new CEO. Alfaraj replaces Martijn Blanken, who has led the company since its inception in 2024. NSG announced its new CEO, April 9.
Alfaraj most recently served as group chief technology officer at Saudi Telecom Company, stc, where he led major technology transformation initiatives including network modernization, digital platform development, cloud adoption, and cybersecurity capabilities, helping position stc as a leading digital technology group.
NSG was launched by Public Investment Fund (PIF) in May 2024 to establish a national space champion and accelerate the development of Saudi Arabia’s space economy. Since then, the company as acquired Taqnia ETS, UP42, and Display Interactive, and the establishment of capabilities across geospatial & Earth Observation (EO), satellite communications, and in-flight connectivity (IFC).
The company said in a statement that its next phase will focus on advancing commercialization of sovereign space infrastructure, including the SGS-1 satellite, which is a joint venture with Hellas Sat. NSG also plans to deepen its role across government and commercial sectors in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
