Maxar Intelligence has appointed Todd Surdey as senior vice president and general manager of the company’s Enterprise business segment, to accelerate commercial adoption of Maxar’s AI-powered geospatial products.
The company’s Enterprise segment serves commercial customers across the consumer mapping, energy, automotive and telecommunications industries. The company is looking to expand the reach of its AI solutions to support use cases including intelligent mapping, site monitoring and autonomous navigation.
Surdey is a tech executive who has recently held senior sales leadership roles at HireRight, CrowdStrike, Zoom, and Google. He also currently serves as an Operating Advisor to portfolio companies for venture capital firm Bessemer Ventures.
Maxar noted his previous experience at Palo Alto Networks, where he grew the Enterprise business more than 30% year-over-year, and at VMWare, where he helped launch several new business units, including a business ventures team that introduced VMWare’s hybrid cloud services to new markets.
“Todd brings a decades-long track record of building high-growth sales organizations and introducing innovative software technologies to new markets, and his experience will help us continue to expand our customer base at a critical time in the company’s growth,” said Dan Smoot, Maxar Intelligence CEO. “We’re continuing to build more innovative, AI-powered geospatial software products that help solve our commercial customers’ biggest challenges.”
