Mark Covelli, senior vice president of Moog’s Space business spoke with Via Satellite during Space Symposium about how the company supported the Artemis II mission, and how Moog is investing in its production capacity to support more customer missions. Moog contributed to both the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and the Orion crew capsule, including environmental control and life support systems (ECLSS).
Covelli also talks about the capabilities of Moog’s Meteor satellite bus — while standing in front of a scale model of the bus. The Meteor bus flies with Moog’s high performance, integrated avionics unit (IAU) which has flown on hundreds of missions.
One benefit is the system’s modularity, Covelli said. “We can scale this to anything from an EO mission to a SAR mission, any type of mission that is required.”
