Marlink has signed a new communications and satellite solutions deal with one of the largest shipping companies in Eastern Europe. It has secured a deal with Polish shipping company, Polsteam to provide upgraded connectivity and cybersecurity solutions onboard 50 vessels. The two companies announced the deal, Oct. 7.
Marlink will equip Polsteam with its SealinkNextGen hybrid network solution to support the company’s transition to digitalized shipping operations. Polsteam will also utilize Marlink’s Unified Threat Management (UTM) solution to enhance the cyber resilience of its vessel operations.
Marlink will leverage its experience as a managed services provider to upgrade the hybrid network solution onboard, integrating Starlink internet with traditional VSAT, managed by its XChange platform to enhance options available for business applications and improving connectivity available for crews.
Polsteam is one of the largest dry bulk vessel operators in Eastern Europe with 70 years of activity in international shipping. The company manages ships transporting cargo around the world.
“Our internationally trading fleet requires us to maintain a high level of interaction between masters and managers, using increasingly advanced tools for collaboration. The Marlink solution enables us to enhance our remote operations in a secure environment, increasing efficiency and leisure solutions for our crews,” Adam Rogucki, technical director of Polsteam, said in a statement.
