Navigating Day 1 of the Biggest SATELLITE Program in History

With more than 330 panel and keynote speakers, 90 events and conference sessions, and 16,000 attendees from more than 100 nations, SATELLITE 2019 is the biggest event we’ve ever produced!

The opening day begins with a general session featuring executives from Boeing, Amazon Web Services, Lockheed Martin, IBM, Hughes, Orange, and Isotropic Systems answering the question, “What’s the (Next) Big Idea?” This session was inspired by the “Fourth Industrial Revolution” concept, exploring technologies including data fusion, cloud computing, lasers, robotics, blockchain, machine learning, IoT, and new propulsion systems.

At noon, attendees can hear keynote presentations from Maersk Shipping’s Head of Mobility Klaus Egeberg and U.S. Vice President Mike Pence — the first time SATELLITE has hosted a serving U.S. Vice President.

Egeberg will explain how satellite connectivity can help drive the evolution of global autonomous shipping fleets. Vice President Pence will address how the administration plans to increase support for space exploration requiring partnership between national security, civil space, and satellite industry organizations.

The day will also debut the Startup Space Pitch Workshop, where new entrants can seek one-on-one guidance from investors. The day-one conference ends with a fireside chat keynote from OneWeb CEO Adrián Steckel and Softbank Managing Director Alex Clavel, discussing OneWeb’s vision for bridging the digital divide following its successful satellite launch.
