SATELLITE 2019’s conference program features more end-user speakers from more enterprise and commercial markets than any previous show in its 38-year history. Some of these fresh new faces are coming to discuss dynamic shifts in tech culture and business, and asking how we can cultivate diversity, attract young talent, and make operations more efficient and sustainable.
Kay Koplovitz — First female CEO of a major broadcast network, and co-founder of Springboard Enterprises. She’ll speak on “Our Collective Role in Empowering Women and Cultivating Diversity in Aerospace” on Wednesday, May 8th. Koplovitz was among the first to utilize licensing and advertising as revenue streams in the nascent cable television industry delivered via satellite.
Klaus Bruun Egeberg — Head of Mobility & Connectivity, Maersk. Delivers Monday’s Luncheon Keynote on the future of autonomy and connectivity in maritime, and how satellite companies can help Maersk meet its goals for the next decade.
Shayn Hawthorne — AWS Ground Station Program Lead, Amazon Web Services. Will bring insight into SATELLITE 2019’s very first general session panel, “What’s the (Next) Big Idea?”
Balazs Bertenyi — RAN TSG Chairman, 3GPP. Will speak on “Standards for Integrating Satellite into the 5G Future,” bringing first-hand 3GPP standards experience.
Tara Bamburg — Associate Manager, Product Development, Southwest Airlines. Will be a guest moderator for the Tuesday opening general session featuring CEOs from the largest satellite companies.
David Reichert — Global Business Development, Electronics and Imaging, DuPont. Will speak on “From the Outside Looking In: Industry 4.0 in Space” on Wednesday.
Lauren Penneys — Director of Business Development, Descartes Labs. Will speak on “Startup Finance Roundtable” on Monday, sharing insight on government investment and strategic partnerships. VS
