SEOPS has purchased a dedicated launch on an Isar Aerospace Spectrum rocket, marking an expansion of its rideshare business to Europe.
The mission is targeted for launch in 2028 and will deploy multiple payloads to Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) from the Andøya Space in Norway. This is SEOPS’ first deal with Isar Aerospace. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The mission is part of SEOPS’ LaunchLock Prime program which gives customers pre-secured capacity and choice of launch vehicle. Customers can opt to have SEOPS coordinate the full launch lifecycle, or just certain functions like hardware, integration, or mission management. Axient Systems, a Netherlands based space mission integrator, is a customer for the LaunchLock Prime program.
“The global demand for launch capacity from Europe continues to accelerate as nations and industries recognize the strategic importance of independent access to space,” says Stella Guillen, chief commercial officer of Isar Aerospace. “We are proud to welcome SEOPS to our launch manifest. Isar Aerospace is committed to enabling our partners with scalable space capabilities that provide reliable and flexible access to orbit.”
Isar’s Spectrum small launch vehicle is not yet proven after its first flight earlier this year was unsuccessful.
