SpaceX launched the third Bandwagon rideshare mission on Monday evening, launching satellites for Korea’s Agency for Defense Development (ADD), Tomorrow.io, and Atmos Space Cargo

Bandwagon is a SpaceX rideshare mission series that launches to mid-inclination orbit, while the Transporter rideshare missions launch to a Sun Synchronous Orbit (SSO). The Falcon 9 mission lifted off at 8:48 p.m. ET on April 21 from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

For Atmos Space Cargo, this is first launch of its Phoenix re-entry capsule. The capsule is designed as a platform to test life sciences such as monoclonal antibodies, stem cells, and organoids. Atmos aims to be the first private company in European history to conduct re-entry from space with this mission.

The mission also launched ADD’s 425Sat-3, a synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite in the Korea 425 Project constellation, a series of reconnaissance satellites. The second 425 satellite launched in December on the previous Bandwagon mission.

For Tomorrow.io, the mission carried its seventh microwave sounder satellite. Tomorrow.io is a weather technology company launching a satellite constellation of satellites to capture atmospheric data like temperature, humidity, precipitation, and tropical cyclone insights. The fifth and sixth satellites launched on the December Bandwagon mission as well. The company says that data from its current satellites is able to deliver global precipitation forecasting coverage with 2.5 km resolution updated every 5 minutes.
