Atlas Space Operations is joining the Amazon Web Services (AWS) solution provider program to resell AWS Ground Station.  The solution provider program is an official AWS program across many industries in which AWS partners resell AWS service to end customers. Atlas said in a Wednesday announcement that it will be the first partner to resell AWS Ground Station.

Atlas sells its Freedom software, a ground network management system that integrates its global ground network with partnered ground antenna sites. Joining the AWS solution provider program will add access to 11 additional ground sites and access to AWS services for customers to store and process data. Atlas customers now have access to 29 total ground stations.

AWS has operated its Ground Station service since 2019, and has partnered with Atlas in the past as well.

Atlas said aggregating multiple networks under one software as a service will give customers lower latency, pricing flexibility, surge support, and more options.

“This work with AWS is a validation of the federated network model, and an immediate boost to Atlas clients who can now access 11 new ground stations with zero software changes,” said Brad Bode, Atlas CTO and co-founder. “We’re excited about our relationship because it offers an integration-friendly gateway to expanded space communication services for our clients.”
