Kymeta is working with PathFinder Digital for updates to the Kymeta u8 MIL terminal. PathFinder Digital specializes in the design, manufacturing, and aftermarket support of mobile satellite ground terminals for defense applications.

The company is providing Kymeta with engineering and fabrication for the ruggedization and production of Kymeta’s new u8 MIL terminals built for military markets.

The u8 MIL, launched in Sept. 2021, features military standard shock mounts, military-specific connectors and wiring, a rugged shroud with expansion capabilities, and chemical agent resistant coating in a weatherproofed radome. The u8 MIL hybrid terminals support multiple embedded modems in both standard commercial networks as well as those employing TRANSEC communications security.

It is the military version of the u8, a Ku-band antenna for land mobility use cases. It can be sold as a turnkey terminal with embedded satellite modem, cellular modem, and SD-WAN capabilities.
