Space42 will expand its satellite services and other services to Angola under a new memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Angola’s Military Intelligence and Security Service (SISM). Space42 called it a “significant milestone” in bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and Angola.
The five-year strategic partnership announced Tuesday includes satellite communications, Earth observation, artificial intelligence, high-altitude platforms (HAPS), national security drones, border control solutions, and command and control center development. Both parties have agreed to collaborate on developing and implementing solutions across those areas.
Space42 covers Angola with its YahClick satellite broadband service, and this coverage will be improved with expanded solutions and services from the Thuraya-4 satellite system.
This agreement comes after meetings between Space42’s executive team and Gen. João Pereira Massano, Angola’s head of SISM, which included live demonstrations of Space42’s technology.
“After years of serving the Angolan people through our satellite services, this MoU represents a natural evolution of our commitment to the country. When General Massano and his team visited us in the UAE, we could see their genuine interest in how our space technology and AI solutions could make a real difference — not just for national security, but for the everyday lives of Angola’s people and communities,” Space42 CCO Sulaiman Al Ali said in a statement.
