BlackSky Technology won a multimillion dollar renewal contract from an unnamed international ministry of defense customer for a subscription to tactical imagery and analytics services.

The imagery and analytics company supports a number of international ministries of defense with its satellite constellation and Spectra AI tasking and analytics platform. The company says it can deliver on-demand imagery and analytics within 90 minutes.

“BlackSky’s commercially available real-time intelligence services are bringing the tactical value of space-based assets into the hands of customers at unprecedented speed and reliability,” commented CEO Brian O’Toole. “Real-time space-based imagery and AI-driven analytics contribute the most value when intelligence updates impact live operations.”

BlackSky recently announced a partnership with Spire partnering for a Maritime Custody Service combining BlackSky’s satellite imagery and Spire’s radio frequency (RF) tracking to monitor vessels. In addition, the company also won a contract from energy intelligence company SynMax to monitor more than 100 coal power plants in the U.S.
