Vacuum furnace at ATK’s Facility in Commerce, Calif.

ATK will exhibit its titanium propellant tank capabilities at the 49th American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Joint Propulsion Conference in San Jose, Calif. The company will showcase designs for integrated tanks and structures used in military, scientific and commercial satellites, space-launch vehicles, and space-exploration vehicles.
These propellant tanks are designed and manufactured at ATK’s facility in Commerce, Calif., which has been operating since 1963. The company has more than 500 designs qualified and has delivered more than 5,800 tanks with 100-percent reliability.
“As we celebrate our 50th anniversary this year, we are pleased to be showcasing our highly engineered products at the Joint Propulsion Conference,” said David Shanahan, vice president and general manager of ATK’s Space Components division.
