[Satellite TODAY 01-16-12] Canadian satellite and information solutions company MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (MDA) has received a contract to provide five advanced technology solutions to EADS Astrium, the companies confirmed Jan. 13.

   MDA said the contract is worth more than $5 million, but did not disclose the details of the order.

   MDA previously signed a multi-million dollar contract with EADS Astrium in October 2010 to provide three advanced technology solutions for integration into the SES-6 satellite, MDA announced Oct. 7. SES-6, scheduled to launch in 2013, aims to provide increased C-band broadcast capacity for the Americas and Europe and add new capacity to support maritime and aeronautical services.
