[Satellite Today 11-07-08] Comtech Telecommunications Corp. has received two new equipment deals from military and domestic companies for military equipment.
    On Nov. 6, Comtech announced that its California-based subsidiary, Comtech Xicom Technology, received a $1.3 million order from the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) for the development of a high power Ka-band amplifier. The amplifier will be a high-efficiency design for use in U.S. Air Force airborne platforms.
    On Nov. 7, Comtech’s New York-based subsidiary, Comtech PST Corp., received a $1.5 million order for high power broadband amplifiers for an airborne electronic warfare application from a domestic prime contractor.
    Comtech said the amplifiers utilize the latest solid-state transistor technology, which provides for broad frequency coverage and are key components in jamming systems manufactured by its customer.
